Since we love talking technology here on AMaeTV, my sweet baby girl and I decided to make a very special video for you. We’re showing off her precious nursery and how we’re using both new and classic technology to make the room more fun and functional for us both.

While I ADORE traveling, I’ve actually been having a blast spending some time at home, and creating this beautiful baby girl nursery has been my favorite part of moving into our new home.

The room has sort of a whimsical, natural, woodland animal, bunny rabbit theme and provides a soothing and relaxing environment for nursing and napping. I’ve incorporated hints of these vintage flower fairy illustrations too, and of course, lots of flowers.

As I do with these room tour videos, I’ll show you some great pieces of technology that you can purchase using my affiliate links. Many of the gadgets and things you’ll see here could be useful in other areas of vlogging life- or just creating more of a hands-free life. That is always the goal with a baby as they often need all of your attention and both of your hands. If there is one less thing you have to do with your hands while moving about your day with the baby then it’s a win for everyone!

I hope you enjoy the video tour and find some useful items to add to a baby girl nursery, or just make any room in your home for fun, whimsical, and SUPER high-tech 😉

How To Film A Nursery

As I mentioned in the video, I’m using three different cameras to provide different style shots of the room.

The OSMO gimbal stabilized camera is best for super smooth shots with almost an indoor drone like effect- you’ve got to watch the video for this one.

My Canon DSLR camera with the fixed 50mm lens creates beautiful images like this one below. The super large 1.8 aperture allows you to create this beautiful background blur and overall is a fun artistic lens to start out with being only $125.

Side Note – Gosh I love being able to work with my baby girl to talk about photo equipment! 😍

Then of course, most of the vlog is filmed on my trusty vlogging camera- the Canon G7x. I’ve made numerous videos about the benefits of this camera that I encourage you to check out if you’re interested in learning more about it.

For Ella, the G7x is great because she loves looking herself in the flip up screen. The low light abilities are also awesome because I never have to think much about lighting when I need to grab the camera to capture all of her special little moments.

High Tech Nursery Items

Alongside our rocking chair, I’ve set up this clever rig to hold my phone and watch YouTube videos for some Mommy entertainment while nursing. It’s great to pair this with headphones because Ella does not like to hear any extra noise while she’s nursing. Are all babies like this? I’m really not sure.

Alexa In The Nursery

We’re also putting the Amazon Alexa aka Echo Dot to great use in the nursery by using the ‘Alexa Skill’ to play rain sounds. Ambient noise helps most babies sleep and it is a HUGE help to be able to activate this verbally rather than fumbling with an iPad or speaker to play an ambient noise track. Playing a track doesn’t sound like a big deal, but when you’re bouncing and soothing you just don’t have free hands for it. You’ll find some great ambient noise on YouTube videos but you may have to deal with the video ending, ads playing, and other horrible things. One poorly placed ad popping on at the wrong moment can WRECK a sleeping baby.

Rain sounds, however, play all.. night.. long. Uninterrupted. It’s dreamy.

For more demos of my Amazon Echo Dot and how I use it please check out the Office Tour Video. That is where Alexa lived before she moved into Ella’s beautiful nursery. She’s happier now.

Nursery Nightlights

To make things even more beautiful I’ve added not one, but FOUR different types of whimsical nightlights. Her essential oil diffuser not only calms the room by misting essential Lavender Oil, it offers soft lighting in a variety of colors that Ella loves to watch me flip through.

I imagine this will be fun when she’s a little older and we can learn the names of the colors- deep sea mist, vibrant lavender, winter white, etc.

Her star projector is another of my favorites, and I purchased it right away when I found out I was pregnant. It offers a whimsical display of the ENTIRE universe on the nursery walls, which is nothing short of super high tech and amazing. The stars orbit around the room and provide several color options and combos as well. Neil deGrasse Tyson would be proud.

Additionally, the string of twinkling star lights you see in the video are fun for anyone, any room, and any occasion. Not really, but we’ll pretend.

Finally, the fairy lights (which we use all over the house) are perfect for her nursery as well. I love both the USB plug in variety for larger setups and the battery operated short strands to add a pop of twinkle to random shelves or small spaces. Really, you’ll have to watch the video to see for yourself how pretty things become with all of the lights in action.

Now that we’re talking about plugging lots of USB things into the walls, I have to share my latest discovery to help make things nice and neat. It’s this sleek wall outlet with built in USB ports that becomes an extension of your original wall outlet. This new outlet fully eliminates the need for USB adaptors to charge things like your GoPro, iPhone or other devices. It saves so much mess when it comes to plugs and I’d love to have one in every outlet in my home!

More Baby Tech

Finally, and most importantly when it comes to defining a high tech nursery, is this super effective baby monitor. I did tons of research before making a purchase and this particular one by Infant Optics had the highest ratings and was overall loved by the new mom community. Yep, that’s a thing, and I’m in it.

I talk about the “low light capabilities” of my camera lenses a lot but this monitor puts them all to shame (with some sacrifice on color and image quality of course). It can literally see in the dark. It can SEE my baby in the dark and it sometimes makes her look a bit terrifying.

Infant Optics Baby Monitor

That’s ok because I know the real Ella is precious (see photos above). This monitor offers all the usual features and tricks with a remote controlled lens, two way talk, volume adjustments (so you can just watch the lights to know if she’s crying) and it even offers a variety of lenses so you can switch them out to wide angle or zoom! I think they might make a gimbal stabilized drone baby monitor next.

Beautiful Nursery Flowers

Finally, to touch on decor I’d like to thank Silk Plants for providing the beautiful Magnolia stems, and providing such a great website to search for the perfect flowers. Here’s a special code for my readers to enjoy 10% off any purchase of Silk Flowers >> BLOGGER10
