Can I just start off by saying how AMAZING it was to travel in Ireland and how excited I am to publish this handful of Ireland travel videos on AMaeTV over the next few months!
The post 7 Things That Will Happen To You When You Travel Ireland is my first teaser of what’s in store, as this next series of videos from my travels in Europe will show you exactly how magically delicious Ireland can be.
First, join me on an adventure to the Blarney Castle, outside of Cork, Ireland, where we see how difficult it can actually be to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Kissing the Blarney Stone is one of the most important things to do in Ireland as once the task is complete, legend says you will be blessed with the gift of gab- or the ability to carry on fun witted conversation.
Even with the Blarney Stone aside, you will see why the Blarney Castle itself is one of the most exquisite castles in all of Ireland as I take you through the mysterious gardens and haunting castle hallways. The journey takes us to the top of the 90ft castle, where we will finally discover the thrilling joy that is kissing the Blarney Stone.

How To Kiss The Blarney Stone
Here’s a rundown of what you need to know to effectively visit the Blarney Castle and Kiss the Blarney Stone.
The Blarney Castle has a killer website, and you can purchase your tickets online to save yourself .50 euro a piece. It still works great for ‘on the fly’ travelers, because you can use your ticket on any day you choose within a 6 month period. The Blarney Castle is open from 9am until 5:30 pm in the winter and on Sundays and as late at 7:00pm in the summer.
This next part is painful for me to talk about, because I only fully realized it upon arriving at the castle- late of course.
There are a LOT of things to do in Ireland and a LOT of them are at the Blarney Castle.
There are also many, many pictures to take..
Utilizing the ‘patented trick’ I often speak of, we somewhat purposely arrived about 30 minutes before the castle closed. While it’s true, the ‘last ones in the door’ trick does work quite well to avoid a line of tourists- it CAN leave you feeling rushed out and spiritually incomplete. I didn’t quite realize the Blarney Castle and Gardens were so extravagant, or there was so much to do including FULL hikes where you can see waterfalls, swans, caves, a fern garden, and more. If I knew, I would have somehow squeezed at least another hour into our tight Ireland travel schedule- and still arrived late, just not quite that late.
Although I will say, #3 in this post is the real reason we didn’t get on the road out of Dublin and down to Cork until later in the day.. #totallyworthit

I do want YOU to be fully prepared, so here I hand you the handy map they handed me at the door.
Map of the Blarney Castle and Gardens
As you can see, the map and directory is full of magical things to see and do during your visit beyond just kissing the Blarney Stone. Some of my favorite marked points include:
★ Wishing Steps
★ Horses Graveyard
★ Witches Kitchen
★ Druids Circle
★ Sacrificial Altar
★ Fairy Glade
★ The Seven Sisters
★ Poison Garden (which IS featured in the video)
All of these are simple proof that..
Visiting the Blarney Castle is simply one of the best things to do in Ireland!
Personally, I need to go back to the Blarney Castle for about 4 hours, which means you need to go there for 5 in total. I highly suggest you not only kiss the Blarney Stone and explore the Blarney Castle, but take time frolic in the most beautiful and well-maintained gardens on the southeast side of Ireland.
As always, thank you for enjoying my travel videos and adventures on AMae.TV. Leave a comment below or on the YouTube channel to let me know if you have ever ventured to Ireland to kiss the Blarney Stone- and if so- were you blessed with the gift of gab?
